Description: Slingram on Suomessa laajasti käytetty sähkömagneettinen geofysiikan mittausmenetelmä. Menetelmä kehitettiin Ruotsissa 1930-luvulla. Geologian tutkimuskeskuksessa (GTK) slingramia on käytetty eräänä perusmenetelmänä maankamaran johtavuuserojen selvittämisessä. Mittauksia on tehty eri puolilla Suomea lähinnä malminetsinnän tarpeisiin.
Slingram on induktiivinen sähkömagneettinen menetelmä, jossa käytetään kahta vaaka-asentoista kelaa.

Slingram, also known as HLOOP EM -method (Horizontal Loop EM), is an widely used electromagnetic method for geophysical surveys in Finland. The method was developed in Sweden in the 1930s. GTK has used Slingram as one of the basic methods for surveying the differences in bedrock and soil conductivity. The measurements have been conducted as profile measurements and systematic measurements, mostly in association with magnetic measurements. Profile measurements are mostly tentative survey lines. Systematic measurements commonly used a line interval of 50-100 metres and a point interval of 10-20 metres. The direction of measurement lines was selected on the basis of local geology. The measurements have been conducted in various locations in Finland mostly for ore exploration purposes.
Slingram is an inductive electromagnetic method that uses two horizontal coils. The transmitting coil generates a primary field at a frequency of 0.1-50 kHz, and the receiving coil measures the resulting total field. The measurement can be made with several different devices: commercial MaxMin devices manufactured by ABEM and devices constructed at GTK. The coil separation is usually 60 or 100 m, but with MaxMin devices, it can be from 10 to 320 m.
